Position Description:The Government Relations Specialist's primary responsibility is to cultivate relations with cities, counties and municipalities that result in collection bins being located in their communities.Job Responsibilities:This position is newly created and is responsible for developing a model of success.1. This position (GRS) requires a motivated self-starter who is organized, detailed oriented, innovative, persistent & possesses a tenacious drive for success. This position calls for an individual who is enthusiastic with past municipal selling experience, customer service and process administration skills.2. The GRS will make as many cold calls as necessary, both in person and over the phone, to gain access to our target list of cities.3. The GRS selects suitable sites for collection bins, researches applicable municipal laws and ordinances that regulate the placement of collection bins on those sites, prepare permit applications with supporting materials such as site maps and environmental impact information, present in front of city councils and committees, and does lobbying to get the applications approved.4. The GRS will develop an ideal legislative model that addresses the concerns municipalities have with allowing textile collection boxes. USAgain needs to be part of the solution and not part of the problems.5. The GRS will aid in the development of collateral and promotional materials for selling into the city, county and municipal market place.6. Complete other tasks as assigned. Determines Work Breakdown Structures to decide resource allocation for the project. Drives to resolution all process related issues through the use of financial/operational/process-impact analysis and the corresponding development of alternatives and recommendations. Creates and manages cross-functional project plan to communicate and track project timelines, milestones, costs and deliverables. Develops required internal and external communications and training to implement newly defined processes, measurements, reporting and procedures. Cooperatively defines and publishes process-focused performance metrics including significant service, quality and cost components. Participates in policy and procedure reviews, change in control activities of any corporate, organization, or department initiative to evaluate impact to current projects in support of planned activity. Identifies cost risks, schedule risks, technical risks, and quality risks. Works closely with identified project teams to perform detailed analysis and produce reports.
